The process
Is the experience
In Tandem Arts advances live performance by creating imaginative “experiences” that are engaging, immediate, & direct. All of our work begins with an inquiry into real stories & prioritizes experiential learning for all ages & all levels. We learn together through co-creating new work in collaborative workshops versus a class/teacher format.

EXAMPLE OF STUDENT PROCESS
14 YEARS IN EDUCATION
Our education programs draw from years of on-the-ground experience working with young people, working artists, arts educators, classroom educators, families, facilitators, and community members. Our approach combines influences from Reggio Emilia, Movement Theater Studio, Jacques Lecoq, Ping Chong Training Institute, Telling My Story, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Highlander Center, Vermont Folklife Center, and more.
“I just have to say how much I totally and thoroughly enjoyed the show last night. It was truly a unique experience as a parent and audience member. I felt so proud of each and every student, from the tiniest to the shyest to the largest and the most robust. I could get a sense of each one of their creative personalities, as they performed in their own style and were invested in their own creativity. I loved the simplicity of the set and costumes, and the music and props were perfect. It was the kids that shone in the lime light. Each of them!” -> Ruth Brooke, Pomfret
